Description
AgroConnect ERS is a full-scale experimental greenhouse and a data space for smart agriculture. It integrates renewable energy, water reuse, CO₂ management, and advanced climate control to optimize crop production.
Our goals include developing predictive models, control algorithms IoT-based monitoring, and robotic systems. The station serves as a testbed for innovative technologies, such as desalination, solar energies, climate control, and fertigation, ensuring transferability to real farms. Through collaboration with farmers and industry, we aim to improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and accelerate adoption of data-driven agriculture.
Characteristics
AgroConnect ERS focuses on precision and sustainable farming under greenhouse conditions, addressing water scarcity and energy efficiency in semi-arid regions. Our mission is to optimize the water-energy-CO₂-food nexus through renewable energy integration, advanced climate control, and fertigation strategies.
We combine applied research with technology transfer, ensuring solutions are practical and scalable for farmers. The station emphasizes data-driven agriculture, offering a connected infrastructure for IoT, predictive models, and interoperability standards. Research also includes agricultural robotics and desalination technologies, aiming to reduce environmental impact and strengthen resilience to climate variability.
