Description
The experimental and training base of the AUP in Yagodovo includes fields, which are maintained conventionally and organically. Depending on the production direction, the biomass is realised as animal feed or as grain for human consumption.
All plots are included in crop rotation. Different methods for improving soil structure are applied, including precise farming practices, application of organic fertilisers, and the use of AMF. Digital tools are used to monitor the soil health parameters. Mitigation and adaptation strategies are applied to deal with climate change issues.
Characteristics
The applied research in the AUP experimental and training station Yagodovo is concentrated on challenges as soil degradation, low organic matter content, loss of biodiversity and poor soil structure raised by changes in the climate patterns. The production strategy is focused on sustainable agriculture practices.
